This will be my last post untill sunday. I will go out tonight, and tomorrow I will take the train to a town called Pardubice or something and attend a Beer-festival :P (as I haven`t drunken enough beer already). Will get back with pictures and stuff at the end of sunday. Got 2 more courses on school today, so now I only need 13 points for this semester - which I hope to arrange in the upcomming week.
If there are anyone else you think of that should know about my blog, please be so kind and direct them to: http://siggen.blogspot.com.
Good luck to Vedrana at the hospital in Prague, hope you will be back in business soon!
Nashledanou
Will try to update this page now and then and tell some tales from my time in Prague. I would be happy if you leave a comment or two - and hope you will come by later.

Csob-bank recomends strip club + even more paperwork
Well. At least in Norway it is not common to stand in a bank, chat to a nice guy (the bank-clerk actually) and get recommended a great strip-club in Prague (The one not far away from Golden Tree...). Have to check it out sometime.
Did get answers from 2 professors today - and now I only need to "hunt down" 13 more credits/study points/ECTS tomorrow (or the following week). I think you should get 10 credits just to manage to find all the papers,persons,manuals,courses,not-open courses,closed-courses,full-courses,rooms and professors. I think I will write a book about it in my free-time. So recommendations for you who are going to study at CTU (Czech Technical University) in Prague some day: Start the paperwork already when you touch the beautiful ground of the Prague airport. The papers you sent when you where home in may/june and got approved does not count anymore - from now on you are a lonesome cowboy against the Czech papermill :) But the buddy-system and the internatinonal office (thanx Katka) is a real life buoy and completely necessary for surviving in Prague.
Todays meal: Spaghetti in the canteen for 60 CZK (15 NOK)
Todays czech word: brambor - potato

Damn paperwork at CTU!
Ok, now I am very tired of the CTU and Czech papermill. Today I tried to register 7 courses at FEL (fac. of Electrical Engineering at CTU) - but only 1 got approved, the other courses where closed or full. So now I have to email all the professors that teaches the subjects and ask them if they have room for an extra norwegian in their class. Grrrrreat. And will probably have to choose courses that I do not want in the first place. Grrrrreat. And to top it of: tomorrow is the St. Wenceslas Day (Czech Statehood Day) - YUHU - hurray for the brave man.
But thanx to the international office at CTU and Katka Bilova it is possible to live and let live in this mess of a paperwork. Think I have to be an employee here for one year after I am finished to study - to teach them how it can be done :).
Did also go out yesterday. Met some 30-yearold Norwegian women, good to finally talk "trndersk" again. I am going crazy with all the finnish and french talk around the dormitory :) I even tried to learn french yesterday: "Do you want to dance with me" - but can not remember anything than it ended with [dancei] or something... So mutch for my french-course.

Strange day
Strange day today, don`t know if it is because of the distance from Marit and Norway, all the beer or something else. Hopefully it will get better. Ciao

Some pictures from my partying the last days, I am really tired now, so I am looking forward to NOT go out :) Have to wake up at 7 AM tomorrow, just so I can move all my stuff before someone else moves in here. Will probably wait in queue for a long time also. If it is really impossible to live at Strahov dormitory block 8 I just have to find some people that also want to move into a better place. Will start the orientation-week on wednesday, and hopefully start doing something usefull (except drinking beer) in 2 weeks. Ahoj

Sparta Praha - Ajax, "you fucking jew" and farewell boat
Wednesday - Sparta Praha - Ajax
Went to see a champions league-match today. Thought it would be hard to get tickets, but it was quite easy to get. Only 450 CZH (110 NOK) for one ticket also. Not the best ticket - but still worth the money. When we arrived outside the stadium there where police-cars standing everywhere. We even saw a couple of policemen on horse and an armed police-car.
Went into a nearby streat and someone obviously had opened a bar/shop from their window and sold beer - nice. As we walked towards the stadium someone shouted "you fucking jew" to me. Never heard that before - and I do not know what he thought was so jewish about me.... Inside the arena we sat beside a fat, shouting and angry man that did not like foreigners. Still we managed to enjoy the game, along with 15 000 other.
Actually bought hot dog and bread, and then I do not mean hot dog IN bread, but hot dog AND normal bread (chleb), good food :) After leaving we saw even more policemen, but I think both the teams where happy with 1 goal each, so there where no fighting.
Thursday - Farewell-party
Last day of our language course had to be celebrated, so we went on a boat-trip (typical tourist-thing to do, but still nice), ate food and drank beer. Afterwards we walked a long way up a hill and found a "secret" beer-garden. Very good view of the town from this place, but it was dark so I have no good pictures of it. Afterwards we went to Roxy, I must say I like this place more and more. Very special rooms, furniture, people, dogs, paintings and things to sit on. Will try to get som more pictures from this place - will go there more. And ofcourse they have the famous Absinth here, even though I haven`t tried it yet (have to save something for the rest of the year). Finally we went for a little dancing at Nebe .......... HAHA. Tried to search for a webpage for the homepage of Nebe, But found something else!. Try to search for this phrase on google: "+nebe +prague", and then click on the 9th link and so on and so forth. Not exactly what I searched for... now I am not sure if I want to sit in the chairs and sofa EVER again... Perhaps a similar search for Dirty Nelly, Storm, Korpen and Oscars (pubs in Levanger) will show some similar movies/pictures ?
Still enjoys Prague!

At the embassy
Did go for a stroll to the embassy today, to register for 17th of May and other funny stuff they arrange. Also asked if I had to register at the police - they sayd yes/no - but it would probably be a good idea, it will only take alot of time. Will try to find a place with Olympiakos - Rosenborg (Champions League) tonight, and I think I have a ticket to tomorrows match between Sparta Praha and Ajax. Will be fun.
Not mutch more to tell about today, really.

Free USB-key and bar/restaurant description in the bank :)
Yet another blue-monday and language-course. After the lesson we went to eat some terrible dinner at the students Menza (canteen). Also took the bus to Strahov dormitories to try to find out if it was possible to stay there from the 18th instead of 19th september. Ofcourse this was not ok - so I will be homeless from 18-19th september :). I haven`t got any good pictures from the Strahov-dormitory yet, but will be sure to let you view this "thing" later. The buildings look like they are abandoned after the plague, but we have a stadium, swimming pool, tennis-court,football-court and alot of shops/pubs/restaurants nearby - so I think I will manage to survive.
Afterwards I tried to go to the embassy, but only open from 9-15.30 - so will go there tomorrow. Had heard a rumor that if you appliede for a student account (for free) - then you also got a free USB-key. So for at least 1 hour I talked to a friendly fellow at CSOB-bank in Dejvicka. He was new in the job, and it seemed that he already had got tired of doing all the paperwork. He did not know all the papers/forms etc yet - but he could understand and speak english, had a sence of humor and even recommended a few pubs/discos. So i absolutely recommend CSBO-bank for any student. At the end he did not have any of the USB-keys left, but it did not do anything (yes it did... thats the reason I signed up for the account :)). He forgot to give me some papers, so have to go back tomorrow again, perhaps he can try to find one for me then.
It also started raining alot today - so now I am more used to the weather (skikkelig trøndervær). Still hope for a couple of sunny-days though. Will try to be good and study (withouth beer) this night. I am not looking forward to stay in queue for everything in one week...

1. The view from my current room at Masarykova dorm
2. Highly education-game from a non-stop pub in prague at around 7 o`clock in the morning
3. This was the first we saw in Karlovy Vary today
4. Very easy to find the different parts of the city
5. We climbed up a hill and up a tree and could see this
6. Lokal people trying to make money on romantic tourists
Long time since an update now. Could have written alot about the day that did not exist, but can summarize it as follows: a lot of beer, playing "find 5 differences on the pictures of a naked lady" with a local czech guy, try to speak "tongue-gymnastics" - that is a sentence that is hard to say fast, several times after eachother (for instance: Ibsens ripsbærbusker og andre buskvekster), ordered 4 karsk in different places (Norwegian "speciality": homemade "vodka" + coffee) - think everyone liked it.... not, went out from the pub at around 9 in the morning and saw school-children walking around to their first day at school and I seem to remember that someone was not very sober...
Today we went to Karlovy Vary. Without being an architect I will think that this is a heaven for those guys/ladys. I recommend everyone that stays in Prague to go to Karlovy Vary, around 2 hours with bus from Prague. We went to the top of a mountain, great view. The restaurant at the top of the hill was good, but we had to wait for too long, so if you plan a trip - do not eat there, but take a walk down the mountain and find another restaurant in town.
Ahoj for now.

1. View from the highest mountain in Czech Republic
2. A strange-looking dog at a bar
3. How a german spell my name
4. Not all the toilets are this nice-looking
Did not listen to myself yesterday. We found a very good pub/place (Wakata Dj-lounge) where we stayed until late. I heard rumors today that some people where drunk when we where there, but I can not remember who. Besides playing table-soccer,drinking pivos, drinking semtex+vodka (if you buy two drinks for 100 korunas you get a lottery ticket and can win a condom, fan, lavalightstick,a puzzle,a tatoo and other things....),looking at dogs, talking to funny people and having fun, we also listened to the DJ playing great music. Will absolutely recommend to visit the place if you are in Prague.
Did also find an excellent guide to find the good places in Prague. MR. Gordonsky`s Praha City Spy Map, also available for other large cities at the homepage right here. So will try to go to see some of the other places also described in this booklet.
I still like Prague very mutch, so I am looking forward to stay here for a year. Have already booked tickets home for christmas (17.dec-3.jan) - and will perhaps take a trip back to Norway in oct/nov, we will see.
