What is all this ironing about?

I had a survey among french-speaking students and me, and we found out something interesting. In Belgium/France/frenchspeakingcountries it is common for the mother of the family (family of 3 people) to iron ALL clothes (t-shirts, trousers, boxers, pullovers ++) for the family members. But strangely enough not the socks. According to real information from my roommates mother (speaking with her on SKYPE) these are the facts:
1. Mothers spend 3 hours a week ironing
2. Her mother did the same thing (how far back does this go? Did Eve iron Adams clothes?)
3. The other reason for ironing is to make it more organized in the closet
4. The third reason for ironing is that Norway and french-speaking countries have different habits

So, do your mother iron ALL your clothes (except for the socks)? Write country of origin, name of mother and yes/no + other comments in the comments-field. Dekuju moc.

Todays french word: Yes, for sure - oui sessur (spoken form)
